It would be nice to know how many of the Favre haters are old crotchety men who have not changed one little bit about anything about themselves in the past 30 year
It is our choice to take it personal or not and how personal to make it.
No, BrINT did not do anything directly personal to any of us. He didn't shoot anyone's dog or impregnate anyone's sister (I hope not. Right guys?) and he may not be that bad to some while to others it's almost as bad.

Frankly, I think he is overrated and turned out to be a terrible QB. One of the worst in the NFL. But the media and some fans are all too willing to look past that with his "Aw, shucks," hillbilly never-takes-the-game-seriously-enough-to-win attitude.
I'm glad he left GB. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
What I can't stand is that he kept on changing his mind, makes himself look like the victim when he dug his own grave and went to a rival team and cheered on other rival teams even going so far to letting the Lions know of some Packers plays.
As someone else pointed out, it would go a long way if he would dig the hole for the hatchet by apologizing.
Of course we shouldn't expect him to apologize because in his mind he didn't make any mistakes.

I am just curious, will you actually ever forget?

I'm 30 years old, and I'm a tattoo artist. I can't speak for these other guys, but I'm not an old crotchety man. I am a fan that takes the Packers very seriously, and who knows that you cheer for the uniform, not the man inside it. I will be booing Brett Favre anytime he is at Lambeau until he apologizes for how he treated the team and the fans.

It would be nice to know ...
It would nice to know how many Favre acolytes are so immature they engaged in hero worship thinking Favre could do no wrong or that he was bigger than the franchise and have not matured one little bit since Favre betrayed the Packers.

As for forgetting, I won’t ever forget. But I would forgive if forgiveness is sought. So far Favre hasn’t offered any kind of an apology, sincere or otherwise.

ThxJack!

Wouldn't have expected anything else in the form of a comment. Personal attack and ill informed. You are very consistent!

He won't apologize--Stay bitter and keep booing! It's good for the soul!

Funny how TJVs comment was considered by you as a personal attack yet your crotchety old men comment wasn`t ?

I`m 57, so yes I suppose I`d be considered an old man, and yes I`m bitter against somebody who has made no attempt at apologising to the organisation I support for his behaviour towards them, AND the fans who support them.
So to quote Mrs Brown....."that's nice".
You guys need to change the record now, it`s wearing a bit thin.

Jack--You're slipping.

I didn't make the crotchety old man comment. My personal attack claim is from your statement concerning acolytes and Favre worshipers--of which I am neither, yet you Favre haters continue to portray me as.

Bitterness and booing--It never ends.

Even as the pungent scent of the training camp locker room, little kids and their desire to have a GB roster member ride their bike, the freshness of new rookie faces and the excitement of a new season is upon us, you guys feel the need to hate and be bitter about a player that hasn't been around for years.

Very sad.

Very sad.

Jack didn`t say it, I did. I was mistaken about who said it BUT you attack Jack for replying to an attack on those of us who are not prepared to kiss Favres *** and welcome him back with open arms. My apologies for the mistake but not for my feelings on the subject.

What does Favre need to apologize the Packer fans for? Exactly? He got paid to play football, and I can't imagine anyone saying he ever gave less than a 100% effort. Green Bay decided they wanted to "move on" and Favre went and played elsewhere. Colin Cowherd predicted a lot of GB fans would act like jilted 7 grade girls and he was totally correct. Being in the Packer HOF is about being a great football player and a Packer. Only a fool can dispute those two criteria being met (tho some here hilariously do). If some ticket holders want to boo, let them. Again as far as an apology goes Favre HAS said he wishes things would have gone differently and he took much of the blame. Maybe some "fans" think he's going to show up at their house and deliver a personal "mea culpa" (....... Wait for it.......wait for it......." If he showed up at my house I wouldn't answer the door blah blah blah blah blah). I'm guessing Brett is too busy enjoying life to worry much about it. He was a football player before and after he was a Packer. He'll go into Canton as one of the greatest players in the history of the game. If Green Bay wants to screw up handling another Favre situation.......oh well

It’s funny OCBP posts I’m slipping while he doesn’t understand he’s responding to buggybill’s post and not mine. :roflmao:What’s truly sad is OCBP is/was such a slobbering Favre fan he can’t get over his hero’s fall from grace. And he’s apparently so fixated about it he’s bitter about how those of us who were and are loyal to the team and not Favre feel about it. As buggybill has posted, why are you so concerned with how we feel about Favre? You don’t see us trying to convince Favre acolytes like yourself to change your feelings about him, why is trying to change our minds so important to you? Talk about never ending bitterness. What, are you afraid you’ll cry if some boo Favre? :D

Sorry Jackie--You're right.

However, I'm not the one *****ing incessantly. You boys are bitter and desire to boo.

This is what will happen--The 3 time MVP and Super Bowl winner will be a first ballot inductee into Canton. #4 will be retired and the number and the name will forever be represented inside of Lambeau.

I won't genuflect, because I'm not the names you call me concerning Favre. However, you and the anti-Favre posse can stand up and boo every time you enter the Frozen Tundra.

Enjoy yourselves!

Meh..... Hating is such a waste of time. Somebody up above said "every time he opens his mouth I hate him more" that's sad, why give anyone that kind of power to waste your energy on something negative. Hopefully that person is young and they'll grow out of it. I relish enjoying all the GREAT things Favre brought to the Packers. How incredibly lucky we were to have him. People who would waste energy booing Favre are like people obsessing or carrying around hatred after a bad breakup or even a divorce. I'm not divorced myself but I feel sorry for people I know still wasting time on hating, and I admire or feel good for the people who decided to move on. I have to admit I wasn't sold on Rodgers, I don't think anybody could honestly say they knew he'd be as good as he is. Favre outplayed him for 2 years but long term Rodgers was definitely the right call.

AK--Well said. Agree on all fronts.

Rodgers is just a great QB and great guy. Hope he plays out his contract without further injury.

I'll be bitter and booing for a long time, as if his number will be retired more than once? I have witnessed every home game since 1988 in section 121. I haven't missed a game since I was 5, and to this day I've booed twice (not including poor calls by referees), both games Favre played as a Viking. You don't have to be a crotchety old man to feel like Favre disrespected the greatest franchise in professional sports. Again, I'm 30 and about as far from crotchety as you can get.

Moreover, why do you care what I do from the bleachers? Are you going to be there when his number is retired? If you aren't, I don't wanna hear about it.

Didn't say I cared what you do at or away from Lambeau and I will be in attendance when the #4 jersey gets retired.

I'm old and crotchety, but have changed a lot in the last 30 years. For instance, I now like bitters in my martinis. Just goes to show you that bittersness can be a good thing.....

You sure? That's where you want to draw the line??!! :roflmao: I think you protest too much. Hey, you weren't the one yelling obscenities at Rodgers and making a fool of yourself protesting outside Lambeau in '08 were you? Kinda looked like you. :D

Again, why does it matter where he plays football when the packers didn't want him anymore? They traded him away, so any claim as to what he does or where he plays is gone.

He went to a rival much hated team and it was the way he did it.
If he had stuck with the Jets there wouldn't have been a problem.
And the Packers did want him, sorta, I think.
When he changed his mind and wanted to be back, didn't the Pack tell him, "OK, but we're going to start Aaron instead and if you still want to be on the team, fine by us."
The whole thing is a mess and I don't think it's as cut and dry as you seem to make it be.

Yes, lets treat it like a bad break up or divorce. So why would we honor this ex?

Favre outplayed him for 2 years but long term Rodgers was definitely the right call.

Which years exactly did that happen? Did one of those end in Rodgers as SB MVP?
