Worth a thread... What do you guys think about bringing this guy in? Would he have more goal line chops or pass catching ability than the guys we have?

The Packers might need to sign a running back if Jamaal ends up being sidelined for an extended period of time. Ajayi would present a decent option although he's not a huge threat in the passing game.

Here are the circumstance of his departure from Miami:

His YPC had dropped to 3.4 with that bad Miami team before the trade. Gase said he was trying to hit home runs. Or was it a case of too much South Beach? It wouldn't be the first time.

On the other hand, I don't see any reports of issues in Philly when he was an important contributor to their 2017 Super Bowl run. *****, his OC in Philly, thought enough of him to have him visit the Colts back in March.

As noted in the above link, he's coming off his second ACL, both on the right knee. He had dropped in the draft with a report that the knee was "bone on bone".

He's the kind of back this offense would appear to need given the shabby run blocking, a physical back who can get yards on his own when healthy and his head on straight. But that knee? You could do all the medical exams and workouts in the world and you would not know what you've got until you put him on the field.

I dunno. I suppose if Williams is expected to be out for any period of time, Ajayi's medicals look tolerable, and there's no contract overhang where he could be dropped without paying more than his game checks, he might be worth a shot, given the alternatives, for 10 carries per game.

That said, it's a long shot propsition on the health/durability issues.

I'm thinking this could be our Blount situation, he's clearly here as a backup and insurance. Gets 5-10 snaps a game and doesn't sign for big money but offers experience and upside (again, assuming his knee lets him play 1-2 years, probably tops).
