44th ELGTON JENKINS MISSISSIPPI STATE C

Any addition to the offensive line is a plus, but he’s listed at center but Lofton said he is a guard? Which is it? The Packers current Center is probably the second best lineman on the team?
They'll play him at OG and he'll back up at C. We can stand an OG upgrade opposite Turner, all the more important if Bulaga goes down once again with Turner moving to OT.

Note: According to nfl.com, the "g" in Elgton is silent, pronounced "Elton".

Here's one opinion on him:

Not sure how I feel about the silent "G" in his name, but that aside, I'm happy with this one.

This one is befuddling, and not because it's an OL pick but not because it's a Center when we needed either a G or RT.

I wouldn't be surprised if he could play backup G for Lane Taylor or Turner/McCray. But we need to get Bulaga out of here so I suggest this OL be fixed by getting a new RT.

I like the pick. This guy will not see time at center but at guard. He was drafted to eventually replace Lane on that left side. He’s tough and DURABLE.

I'm not the big fan of Lindsley like everyone else. That has all been wishful thinking imho and now we maybe have the real deal.

"We now take you live to one of our posters basement, as the Packers get ready to announce the 44th pick with Paris Campbell still on the board....."

Read the whole thread. You will see he has played every ol position except RG. He wasn’t drafted to play center but could be a backup there.

Replacing Taylor will be good news, so one need addressed for sure. I'm guessing he probably excels more in the interior as opposed to OT. It's too bad Jawaan Taylor was off the board or we'd have had an instant upgrade over Bulaga there.

Not a very common view. What's your issue with Lindsley?
For some reason Packer fans have always had love affairs with the OL. I have not liked our running game for quite awhile now and though I don't blame that on Lindley; I don't think he helps. Not any push around the goal line and drafted (probably late) in the fifth round. This guy is 2nd round and early and I have always thought a great center makes the whole line better.

Hey Rodell! What did you think of the first two picks? I didn't see you comment on those.

Just saw that not only is Jenkins a great run blocker, he only gave up 3 sacks in 4 years
