While that is true on their D and you could see how as a unit they’d frustrate good Offensive Lines, he still wins his 1 on 1 quite often. According to Sports Illustrated, Oregon coach Dan Lanning praised Burch, noting his "great violence" and the fact that he "shouldn't be blocked one on one“ The bulk of his TFL or Sacks were on pure effort and he himself admitted after the Michigan State game that he was a benefactor of his D as a whole and guys fell into his lap. Yet I think luck is a combination of preparation and effort of being all up in the right spot. However that doesn’t erase 6 solo PD or the hustle to finish those plays 35% TFL rate. Thats Elite. You still have to hustle and finish properly. Lastly. Recall that Burch put up 11TFL, 6 PD, 1 FF, 1 FR, 8.5Sacks in 10 games. He missed almost a month coming back off a minor knee injury. If Burch is a high performer in a Good Defense, I think he’d be perfect for Jeff Hafley to employ. Particularly if we do something amazing like invest at CB early and get J’aire on the field more. Might be a match made in heaven.
