Agree.

If Stafford had been on a team like the Patriots in his early days, he would be wearing multiple SB rings. I only really got to seem him play VS the Packers and maybe a Thanksgiving Game or 8, and he always seemed to be a really good QB with Detroit. However, even a FHOF QB like Stafford can't make good wine out of moldy grapes.

I actually was happy to seem him traded out of the NFC North, but Goth is no slouch either. The trade ended up being a great thing for both players. Giving each guy a new start to their careers, that seemed to have been going downhill with the teams that originally had drafted them at #1. I think the Lions ended up on the positive end and its possible what kick started their climb to the top.

Rams received:

  • QB Matthew Stafford
Yes, the Lions got a great deal. Think of all those years and all the decades. At least the Vikings made it to 4 SBs. They actually show 1950s videos on You Tube of the Lions with Bobby Layne at QB to get Lions fans in the mood for a title.

If the Lions win a SB they will have for sure won the trade…until that happens though, I feel a wash at best is all one could say for the trade - Rams got a SB

Sorry this is off topic, but I can't find a good place to put it, I don't want to start a new thread just to make one comment. This is a bit of a rant: I was watching the Chiefs beat the Texans, and they kept talking about how they're on a quest to win three straight Super Bowls. And they keep saying this has never been done. And that is true.

But you will never, ever hear anyone say that the Packers have won three straight NFL championships (twice). Because that was before the Super Bowl era, so as far as anyone else is concerned, that era doesn't exist. Actually, the first two Super Bowls were part of the last threepeat, because the Packers won the year before Super Bowl I. Then they won Super Bowls I and II. Anyway, that just irritates me.

I couldn’t think of anything other than that KC game made me truly think there is absolutely a rigged factor (maybe not entirely) in the league. There were some INSANELY bad blown calls and OF COURSE ALL WENT KC WAY.

Roger Goodell himself should have called into the game and had the back up refs (I know a certain number are at each game) ran out and kicked the others off. It was insane

Studs - I hated to see Jones go to Minn. but gaaawwd is Jacobs a beast; Kraft; McKinney; Cooper.

Duds - Van Ness looks like a bust; anybody in the secondary not named McKinney or Williams. And as much as it pains me to say it because I love him, Watson; I’m not one to hate on injury plagued players, it’s not their fault, but the bottom line is the best ability is availability, and sadly, he ain’t got it…..

I don't watch alot of full KC games, but it was amazing how adept Mahomes was into baiting personal foul calls. The one scramble where he dropped late and the 2 Texans dove over the top shouldn't have been a PF call. Luckily that one wasn't called a PF where he slowed down right before OOB then flopped hard. Even Aikman was apoplectic about that one. Then you see Daniels got thrown down a good 5 yards OOB...

Goff, Darnold and Love all had pitiful games for the NFC North teams. That's hard to overcome. The pick 6 that Goff threw was hard to overcome, especially with their defense getting shredded.

Yes the Packers have some good players....but just watch the Playoffs and you will see teams stacked with great players. The Lions have so many weapons that it's not fair. The catches that the WRs on these teams makes Green Bay look like the JV squad.

I like J.Love but there's no way he can lead the Packers to a SuperBowl. He always starts games like he just smoked a blunt. And now he has more $ than he could ever spend. So he's always complaining about being sore so he can get out of practice. Maybe I'm wrong. But he's boring and MLFs offense has been really boring this past season. During the Favre and Rodgers era, I would never miss a game. When I was a young teen in late 90s I worked weekends and if there was a game during my shift, I would switch with someone else.
#1 we need to pickup free agents. Look at the difference Mckinney did for our defense. And he really cares about winning. He calls coach to make sure everything is on point. And Jacobs was another great addition.
If Green Bay doesn't add a #1 WR and an above average pass rusher, then I promise you that they will be last in the division. Look at the bears talent. If they had a better operation in the office and a decent coach, I think they could be as good as Minnesota. If they coach Caleb up next season and everyone is on board, they can get hot like the Commies did.
BTW, how sweet was it to see the Lions get beat by Washington! Jaden is a stud.
If the Packers could have put a few points on the board vs Philly, we could get to Superbowl without facing Minnesota or Detroit.

My last thing is that I am not one of the ppl who wants Lafleur to go. I think he did what he could with the talent we had.
The main problem is that we don't have the talent to match up with the good teams. And that's a Gutey problem. He's made a handful of decent picks, but he made allot of bad picks early in the draft that never panned out. The draft is not a science, but free agency is more costly but at least you know what u are getting.

I would love to see Saleh brought in as assistant head coach...take some off of MLF plate and let him focus a lot more on playcalling. I love MLF as a HC and as a playcaller...but essentially being both is not working IMO.
Yess! I would love that. Despite what the Woody Johnson's kids think, Rob Salah is a football savant. If I was Chicago I would snatch him up ASAP.

We are the only NFL franchise to get 3 in row twice! I don't know why NFL championships won before the SB era are swept under the rug by so many today. Nobody dismisses the achievements of the Yankees, Edmonton Oilers or the Celtics all those years ago.

I'm hoping a change at DL coach will help bring out the best in Van Ness and the rest of those guys. We have a lot of draft capital at that position with a so far a lousy return on our investment.

The Lions and Commanders better be stacked with great players. They were terrible thus drafted at the top for countless seasons. Both of these teams will find out how hard it is to draft near the end of every stinkin' round this spring.

We're the only NFL franchise to win 3 champions in a row even once. But we did it twice. That may change this year if the Chiefs win the Super Bowl again, probably with the help of the refs. Good point about the Yankees, Oilers, and Celtics. Those sports don't seem to suffer the same "age discrimination", for whatever reason.
