After reading all these posts on weather, I was thinking about a day that goes back to the first winter we spent in South Texas. It was right after New Years Day, and it was about 65 degrees out when I decided to go to the pool to enjoy a dip. So, it was about 7:30 AM, all was quiet, and I went down there. According to the weather forecast, by about 8 AM it was going to be 70, and going up rapidly from there. The pool cleaners were there, and had just finished the pool, and were tidying everything up around the area. They were all wearing heavy jackets, and heavy clothing in general. Me? I was in my swim trunks, with a t-shirt on, and a towel, draped over my shoulder. I greeted them, and they looked at me and shook their heads. They figured I was at least a couple bricks short of a load. Our pool was heated, and maintained an 83 temp. To me? That was paradise. Unless you've spent time up North, and I really mean "UP North," a person hasn't got a clue as to how nice they've got it when they don't need to bundle up to go outside. Of course, now, in the middle of summer, we pay our price. Yesterday it was 101, today they say 102, but with any luck a "cold wave" is coming through and it will knock the temperature down into the mid to upper 90s. Of course, we win during the majority of the year. Having our game day Packer and Badger tailgate parties with temps in the 70s to low 80s. Watching the games outside, and not freezing our tails off is gigantic! I love it! Although, I will admit I do miss the days of going to Packer and Badger games and sitting in the stands, no matter how darned cold it was.
