Read yesterday in the tweet column of the Packer page on sportsyder from one of the Packer writers(Demovsky?). Said Ted is in poor health. Doesn't travel anymore, and it's quite possible he won't be able to attend his Packer HOF induction. Hoping this turns out well.

Any idea what's up with Ted? I too hope that whatever it is, isn't grave (I'm kind of grasping for a better word).

Been an issue for ever, he should have taken his own advice..

Let go one year to early than one year to late..

Ie, he should retired one year b4 he stepped down

While he didn't give specifics, it didn't sound good.
Who didn't give specifics? Do you have the very recent tweet you are speaking about? Ted's had some health issues the last couple years, but I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe "it didn't sound good" or is a immediate grave situation.

Never heard he won't be attending his Packer HOF induction in May either.

Have not even heard he is no longer in his role as Senior Advisor with the Packers. He was in the draft room working with Gute and the rest of the staff during last years draft.

From an outsiders perspective the visible symptoms TT started exhibiting about five years ago seemed consistent with Parkinson’s or some other similar neurodegenerative illness. I understand many packer fans were not happy with his performance that last few years, but we need to remember a few things.

1) TT maintained a consistently competitive team over a long tenure in a small market in a cold place where You often have to pay an extra premium to get free agents to come. Those of us who remember the packers of the 70s and 80s really appreciate that.

2) TT is a human being and has faults and makes mistakes like the rest of us. He probably should have recognized earlier that he wasn’t well and retired gracefully with his positive legacy intact. I can’t fault him for that. Which of us wouldn’t want to keep doing the thing we love? Football is his life.

3) Empathy is an emotion we could use more of these days.

I hope TT gets better. I am curious if this poor health has been going on for a while (during TT's finals years as GM) did Murphy know about it or did TT hide it from him?

I don't consider it to be true that the Packers have to pay extra money to lure free agent to Green Bay. There's no doubt Thompson deserves credit for the success the team enjoyed for most of his tenure but unfortunately he didn't do a good job over the last few years as the general manager.

4) As his health deteriorated, it was incumbent on the boss (Murphy) to make a change. If people are upset about him making decisions past the point of being capable, they need to look up the chain of command.

Re-read the original tweet. It says where it was.
You never posted any "tweet" to be re-read.

You say a tweet from "one of the Packers sportswriters"

Demovsky, Wilde, Silverstein, Dougherty have said nothing about this the last couple days.

Just curious what the "tweet" was you saw. If it is just random clown on the internet saying that Ted is worse off healthwise than he actually is then that should be stated here. Fine to discuss it, just do it with clarity.

I'm not asking you to post the tweet.

I was curious who the tweet was from? If we are posting a thread about a mans health and imply it is a possible dire situation about someone many of us care about, then I think it should be clear. All I am saying.

I think TTs biggest issue was not making a coaching change sooner.

As for his health, I wish him peace and comfort. We owe him a big debt of gratitude for all the success and excitement he brought the Packers.

If you're looking for it on the Packers homepage, you probably won't find it. They update constantly, so it will probably be several pages back. One thing I did remember just now, if it helps, is the quote came from a radio interview. Something like 105.1?

Not looking for it. I consulted with a couple credible sources and found out T.T. is fine. From what we know at this moment T.T. will be in the Packers draft room during the draft and will be attending his Packers HOF induction in May.

That's good news. then somebody needs to take Demovsky and that radio station to tasks for saying such a thing.

It was a tweet from Demovsky you saw?

That is why I asked who it was from. Demovsky hasn't discussed Ted Thompson on twitter the last few days.

Let's just leave it that.

My bad. The tweet was from Zachary Jacobson yesterday morning. It's from the twitter site of 105.7 The Fan. " Ted's health has declined to the point where he's really having trouble travelling. There's questions about whether Ted will even be at his own (Packers HOF) induction".
ICYMIRob Demovsky joined the big show.

This was from Wednesday night.

It was from a Demovsky interview on a radio show.

It's been kind of obvious that Ted is declining in health. This isn't exactly shocking.

Yes, as I stated above Ted has had some health issues over the last couple of years. That is well known publicly. The OP implied that very recently T.T. took a turn for the worse. I haven't seen any credible evidence of that.

There is no reason to believe that Ted won't be at his Packers HOF induction in May. That could change, but at this moment that is the case.
