However, I firmly believe almost every team feels like they're heading in the right direction. Dallas will run it back thinking they're talented enough and think they'll push further next year. Chicago believes they're on the upswing and have major draft capital in the upcoming draft. The Vikings believe they'd have been in our position if their QB didn't go down. The Lions no doubt feel like they're just starting to bloom now and have a lot of ways in which they can still get better. Every opportunity, no matter how unlikely it may have seemed in hindsight, matters, and every time last night happens is an opportunity and year lost. Who would have thought, back in 2011, when Rodgers held up the SB trophy, that he'd never get back? He was still in his 20s with a young ascending team. There are no guarantees or assurances, no matter how young or talented. We could go 14-3 next year, get a bye and then run into this year's hot version of ourselves only to see them finish the job. We just never know. There's always next year, and then all of the sudden you look up and an entire era of opportunities has slipped you by.</blockquote>
