That was just speculation and even if that is the "Steelers/Rodgers Plan", all the they had to do was say "We are working on the terms of a deal, but there is a strong possibility that Aaron Rodgers will be a Steeler in 2025." I'm not going to blame the entire situation directly on Rodgers, unless you take into account his previous years of drama. I really think A-Rod has put himself in a position that the media and fans would make a big deal out of the guy trying to decide between a right turn or a left turn at a traffic light. Would it be best for the Steelers organization to just have the decision made and get on with prepping for the draft and the upcoming season, knowing who their starting QB is going to be? Of course it would be, but this is Rodgers MO and has been for quite a few years. Whether he is looking for attention or not, he likes to hem and haw over things, trying to look smart, while he decides what is best for Aaron Rodgers. I guess at 41, I don't blame the guy for contemplating retirement, while weighing what would be best for his final days of playing in the NFL. I also think that he is holding out hope that the Vikings will switch gears and sign him. I think the Vikings would present the best situation for Rodgers making it to another Super Bowl and ending his career on a high note. I don't see that happening with the Steelers and maybe Rodgers doesn't either. There really isn't a rush for Rodgers himself to sign a contract. With injuries, bad performances, etc., there is always going to be a team out there looking for a QB with his credentials.
