Tonyan got robbed. According to PFF Adrian Amos should have made it as well. Hard to be disappointed with 7 Pro Bowl players. Linsley probably makes it if he doesnt get hurt too.

Evan Engram....seriously? Nearly same yards but 9 extra TDs!

Well Engram has more fumbles then Tonyan, and 9 drops to Tonyans zero, AND Engram has 5 more ints that bounced off his hands then Tonyan.

No denying Engram clearly leads in all 3 of the above categories why anybody would look at having more fumbles, drops and INT's thrown your way and say yeah that guy is better I don't know but those ARE the only categories Engram is clearly ahead in.

I prefer Tonyan to catch passes in the Super Bowl while Engram can take pride in having been named to the Pro Bowl anyway.

Since when are the two mutually exclusive?

BTW, honest take on the Tonyan snub? It was a political decision. The NFL has bent the knee to BLM, so how could they possibly put both Hockenson and Tonyan on the roster without invoking the wrath of its overlords? This is the natural fallout when an organization embraces identity politics.

Okay. So it was performance-based. Gotcha.
It usually boils down to name recognition. You make a name for yourself and the next season, if you duplicate it, you get rewarded or at least in the discussion. If the game were actually played and the Packers post season was ended, Tonyan would be an "injury" replacement as snubs are rewarded that way.

No, but it could very easily just be name recognition.

Nationally, people don't know who Robert Tonyan Jr is. Evan Engram was a 1st round pick.

Same thing happened when the Packers' Jeff Saturday got selected to the pro bowl at center... people knew his name.

The pro bowl selection process is stupid, but not necessarily nefarious.
