I think you are correct. Matt was shooting for the #6 seed and a more preferable pathway. Also people forget that had that happened and we advance and Washington advanced? We would have a legit shot of playing a team with 3 less Wins to start, then also playing an NFC game at Lambeau. Now someone might try to convince us that we just aren’t worthy that. I don’t believe this team thinks that way at all. Now if there was 0% benefit to Winning last Sunday other than “keeping momentum”? It’s likely Matt does what I would’ve done and pulled starters. Here we had THREE potential benefits. 1. Gain Momentum 2. Easier statistical Pathway to a Divisional 3. Potential to play 1 game at Lambeau. I think much deliberation was done behind closed doors concerning resting or not resting. So far those closed doors meetings have resulted in a Playoff caliber team in 5 of the last 6 seasons. Along with multiple NFC visits. There are a very select group of teams leaguewide that can boast about their success as it pertains to both game to game and season to season personnel decisions like our FO can. I say this all the time and I’m convinced that you just have to stay true to the convictions that successfully got you here. Don’t second guess it and it doesn’t even matter if I agree or disagree. Stay true to who you are and don’t let ANYONE tell you different
