Today was announced by the NFL that fewer penalties will be called...…..WHAT?????

Gee, we don't agree this is working so let's just agree to call less penalties.

I only watch the Pack anyway. Not a knee jerk reaction to all the stuff that you young guys get all worked up about...just a slow but steady ever growing disdain for the Madden game the NFL has become. It's been a 10-year slide guys....the penalty situation is just another nail.

I feel like you just said exactly how I've been feeling about the product. My Sundays used to revolve around football. Now I watch the Packers game and move on to do other things with my day. I can't tell you the last time I watched a Monday or Thursday night game of the Packers weren't part of it.

This will be the first year in 9 years for me that I won't go to a Packers game either. I just can't see myself spending the amount of money I used to to watch these games. Now I just bootleg them off my laptop.

I'm feeling the same way even about the Packers.
We can't argue that the NFL controls them and every other team as long as the $$$$$$ is there.

If fans keep moving on and not going to the live games or watching football at home, will to be a rude awaken for the mighty NFL.

I agree.. Besides last year's tickets, I think it's been over 2 years now since I bought any NFL merchandise. I know I'm just one person, but if enough people stop giving these goons money, that will get their attention

the next rule that needs changing is the anti-Rodgers rule of blowing plays dead on defensive offsides...
That rule has bothered me so much. Even Rodgers has used that to our benefit. But any other pre snap penalty always stops the game, I don't get how that penalty allows the offense to continue

I agree Lambeau, I see that as gamesmanship. Instead of whining about it, NFL teams need to coach better. It is no worse than spot of the foul P.I. - I think guys that jump offsides due to "voice inflection" is the reward for being stupid.

the unabated rule still exists I think. Or not? If it doesnt then the dead play makes sense.

Because the defense has the right and ability to get back on the correct side of the line. Happened in today's game early. As long as offense doesn't react, defense has until the snap to return. Rodgers' value is the center snaps the ball while the defender is off sides, before they return. They aren't offsides until the snap, so why should the play be called dead at that point? Unabated to the QB, inducing the OL to move, and making contact are different than offsides thus are called differently.

I don't watch much "foreign" football and when I do it's late season key matchups. Never played Madden, never played fantasy. The last time I watched much foreign football was the 2014 Bills (my local market) with that outstanding Schwartz defense. Some might recall week 15 that season. That said, I think I'll check in on the Mahomes kid at the start and see if the game holds my interest. ;)

I guess they kept comparing Mahomes to Favre because of the Reid connection. He's more good-wheels-Rodgers than Favre. Anyway, the KC 4th. quarter was worth the look see.
