"We're going to relentlessly chase perfection."
1(32)- Derion Kendrick, CB Clemson: If you watched more than a half of Packers football this season, you would know that WR is not their #1 need. Especially going into 2021, when they will likely be without Kevin King. Taking a CB in the first round is critical, and the Packers are pretty decent at taking DBs in the first round. Kendrick is a great zone CB, which is what the Packers desperately need. They have the sticky man CB in Jaire, Kendrick could quickly replace King and then some.
2(64)- Carlos Basham Jr., DL Wake Forest: Kenny Clark and Keke Kingsley need help on the Line. At 6’5, 275 pounds he can lineup in a 3 point stance or look to become an aggressive pass rusher to replace Preston Smith who will likely be a cap casualty in 2021. Sitting behind Gary and Z Smith, can only bring out the best in a young player.
3(95)- Dazz Newsome, WR UNC: The third round is the earliest I see the Packers taking an offensive skilled position player. Even here, it could easily be an RB or TE if they lose both William and Jones OR Big Bob in the offseason. In a BAP situation, Dazz Newsome screams MLF offense. Watch his tape and you will know what I mean. I am already fastforwarding to next season when we see him run a jets sweep for his first career TD. Has blocking ability and can be a slippery slot WR. If a WR is taken in the first 100 picks by the Packers, he seems like the best fit all around.
4(132)- Josh Ball, OT Marshall: Big dude! 6’8 350 pounds. Do not know much about him, but with that kind of size and the Packers innate ability to bring out the best in anyone they stick on the Oline, could be a fun pick to watch develop…as long as Rodgers can see over him.
4(137)- Kenny Yeboah, TE Ole Miss: If you watched any SEC football this year, you know Kenny Yeboah. Basically adding another WR/gadget TE aka another MLF type player to the offense. I only see them looking for a non Y TE like Yeboah if Bob Tonyan is lost. I expect the Packers to put a first or second round tender on Big Bob, but that is if they can afford to pay him. I also expect some NFC North teams to be looking to add them to their roster, for what cost though is the question. BAP by far if he makes it this long.
5(171)- Leon O’Neal, S Texas A&M: Well built strong safety. Add some depth in a developmental player.
5(175) Jaret Patterson, RB Buffalo: If he makes it this far, that is only because scouts had the same fears about him as they did Aaron Jones. Watch his film, tell me he is not Aaron Jones at UTEP. My father in law is a huge Buffalo guy, he will be very jealous if Patterson ends up a Packer.
6(208) Amari Gainer, LB FSU: The Packers hit on a pair of later round LBs in 2020, why not try again. This guy was all over the field in his 2020 season.
6(214) Mustafa Johnson, IDL Colorado: Developmental player that is used to playing in the cold.
7(251) Roger McCreary, CB Auburn.
