I understand that concept but when you are talking money, very large amounts of money and a question of book keeping, you can bet the government is going to get involved. I'm not saying I agree with it. To be honest I'd like to see this resolved peacefully between the NFL and the players union. If the government had to intercede on mediations, that might cause more of a problem than good. It makes me wonder if this in unprecedented. Has the government ever intercede in a dispute between a professional sports league and its players? I don't recall that ever happening and I hope to God it doesn't happen here. Back to the books. If I were the owners, I'd open them. It's no longer a question of the principle of the matter or a question of should they have to. I think it would be in their best interest to do so. If they have nothing to hide, then  they have nothing to fear, so why not? Show them, establish they are what they say they are so they can move forward in negotiations.</blockquote>
