^ In order of importance...

Gott Sei Dank... I'm a Frank.

And the best in the rank is to be Oberfrank.

So... in English.

Nuremburg is the heart of "Frankisch" territory (Oberfranken if you prefer). But the better people (according to the pun above in English) are in Franksich.

Frankfurt itself is Hessen territory. Never to be confused by Oberfrankens.

A few years ago I hated Frankfurt and thought they had no culture. I slightly changed my opinions since then. They do indeed have some culture along with too many brothels near the train station. :) I love culture.

Wow, what a brutal game! I hate ending something like that on penalties, but obviously I'm ecstatic about the outcome

Personally, I don't have much of a clue about "football" in Germany since I've never attended a single game there. In Germany I once encountered UK football fans at would be the equivalent of a US truck stop. That was...well...interesting.

Thanks to my SE Wisconsin heritage I was able to identify almost all the food served in Germany during my visits there. And the locals ate fast, too, just like Americans have a tendency to do. Frankfurterly, I felt right at home. I'm curious. What do they serve at the concession stands during football games in Germany?

Here in Hamburg they're serving almost everything you can think of. In my opinion a plain Brat is still the best choice. But if you like you can have fries, Burgers, Bockwurst, Pizza, Crepes or a fish sandwich for example.

Most common is brats and beer. Sure, there are hamburgers, schnitzel sandwiches, and fish sandwich also.

I prefer the schnitzel sandwich.

I have found zero Doener Kebabs in the USA.

Haven't had one since I left Germany. Closest thing in the states would be a Greek gyro, which really isn't that close. Was Google recipes today to see if it would be possible to make my own.

Your right, gyro is the closest... and it's still not that close. ha.

Here's a fun fact. Doner Kebabs aren't popular (or don't exist) in Turkey... and the Turkish are the main people who make Kebabs in Germany.

I'd take him....

Played poorly the first half of the season, but I believe he started in 10 of the last 11 games for Schalke. Still very young, could have a successful career, just isn't good enough right now to crack the roster at Bayern.

He's got great potential. I liked him. But cracking a spot in Bayern's lineup is not easy.
