Easily the closest to the most complete game they’ve put together. Still some more there but man.

McDuffie should be on everyone’s stud list or you shouldn’t be allowed to post for a year.

Love - he was sharp
Kraft- had nice hands and ran the ball with YAC
Zack Tom- stud near every week.
Reed-made some really nice catches
Q. Walker- 4th down sack was the biggest play of the game. While I think he was out of position on some of Miami's big pass plays, he deserves credit for the big stop.
Duds-
Stokes- when he was in there, it didn't look pretty.
McDuffie
Myers- nothing much up the middle in the run game.

Studs;
I think all 3 of our ILB played really good. Quay Walker just stacked back to back “A grade” performances. McDuffie and him were involved regularly. Even Eric Wilson was flying around. I mean stopped the Run again to the tune 14 carries 39 yards 2.8 per? WOW
Van Ness came to life again.
Kenny Clark was seeing reaping Havoc
Brenton Cox Jr has been terrific overall. He’s really impressing imo.
Coordinator Jeff Hafley

Brandon McNamus

3/3 FG
3/3 XPM
(46 long)

Jayden Reed 2 TD’s
One of the best catches in then3 games we saw today was Reeds 1 handed snatch
Tucker Kraft
Christian Watson

All had a good day and had Watson not been slammed into (missed PI) he likely scores a TD on that 2nd to last drive.
Josh Jacobs. Don’t know what to say, consistently good. He literally froze that Defender like a thing of beauty. Miami keyed on him all game by lining up 5 on the DL regular.
117 All purpose; 1 TD

Jordan Love
274 passing
2 TD’s
129% Passer

Studs:
Offense - Love, Kraft, Reed, pass blocking, 3/3 red zone TD in 1st half
Defense - McDuffie, Walker, Clark with his 1st sack, D-line as a whole.

Duds:
Run blocking. Didnt make much room for Jacobs. Wicks with another drop that was almost intercepted. 2nd half offense had two red zone trips resulting in 2 FG's.

Overall, a quality win against a good opponent. They have momentum going into Detroit. Still areas to improve on, but heading in the right direction.

107.7% Passer

Miami

Cumulative Last 3 Games
47/68 69.2% Reception

We need to win 1 out of the next 2. Super tough games coming up against Detroit and Seattle on the road. I honestly think we can beat Seattle but Detroit will be very tough. They looked vulnerable today though and they had injuries on their defense today. That might help us.

J Love quietly getting back into that late 2023 form…
Jacobs continues to impress
Reed and Watson stepped up to make up for Doubs absence… and even Wicks started to (somewhat) find some hands
Quay Walker… knock on wood but maybe is finally starting to turn the corner? He’s been good recently.
Same for LVN. Is he finally going to begin consistently producing too?

With some guys getting healthy and the team in general seeming to find a groove we may just be rounding into form at just the right time. Big chance for a statement win against an (imo) vulnerable lions team.

Good game. Pretty solid team effort. But there were plenty of coaching moments. Rest assured they weren't lost on the coaching staff. It still puzzles me why LeFleur won't put the opposition to sleep, instead of letting them mount some kind of a late attack all the time. It could cost us key games down the stretch, and would kill us in the playoffs.

About the time you think Nixon is no longer needed, he does something to remind us as to why they keep him around.

The biggest game of the year to this point is next Thursday. It needs to be the team and coaching staff's best effort of the year. It means so much, as they head down the stretch. Not just in making the playoffs, but sending the message that they're going to be there for quite a while.

STUDS:
1. Offense : After punting on 1st drive of the game, 5 straight scoring drives for 27 pts.
2. Defense : Run defense 2 games in a row leading the way, 2.8 yds per carry both games, 2 4th down stops, 5 sacks, 4th straight game keeping opponent under 20 pts
3. Special Teams : Whelan 3 of 4 punts inside the 20, including the Muffled punt by Miami that started the momentum. McManus perfect on 6 kicks in a cold weather game.

DUDS:
1. Undisciplined penalties, 3 offsides, 3 false starts, and a personal foul on Jenkins at the end need to get cleaned up.
2. Me... I ate way to much and I should know better.
3. I got nothin'

This was a Great "Team" Win!

Special Honorable Mention :
Josh Jacobs bringing the rest of LeRoy Butler's Turkey and fixings to the locker room for the team, after the post game interview and Turkey Legs feast.

Honorable Mention Runner-Up :
Dontayvion Wicks for reading our game thread on the sidelines after the drop, taking our advise, and making 4 straight catches with his "HANDS" :whistling:

I think fans are finally beginning to take notice that the heavy dose of Jacobs carrying the ball early in a game is forcing teams to stack the defense against the run, thereby opening up our passing game. When he's been out of the line up, teams have dropped back, but now we have a couple of back up runners who are making them pay for that mistake. The offense has become more unpredictable to defenses, after the scripted plays.

Very enjoyable game with a lot of studs and no mentionable duds.

Wanted to point out just one play where Quay Walker was deep covering Hill in the endzone and Hill wasn't open. Not sure if there was a blown assignment he was covering for or what.

Agreed AR. Ironically the Packers seem to play better against the Lions indoors, in Detroit. I'm hoping for a good game and a fast start by the Packers. The Lions looked beatable yesterday (maybe they would have been beaten if Eberflus or Williams remembered to look at the clock).

Winning one of the next two is important to maintain the 6th seed. Would be great if they could pull ahead of Minnesota - there's only 1 game separating the Packers from a #2 seed.

Yeah that's a good way to look at the run game. Jacobs doesn't need much, but he needs at least a crease to gain some yards and stacking the box makes that nearly impossible. I have been pleasantly surprised by the play of Wilson and Brooks.

And props to MLF for sticking with the run. That must have been hard to do with Jacobs getting stopped, but it payed off.

I expect to see a lot more RPO in December. Teams can't cheat. Last night was a run-heavy game but two TDs came on passes. Great job all around.

The one pre-snap penalty that drives me nuts is a defender lining up off sides. I'm no football player, but isn't it just a simple turn of the head to make sure the hand is on the right side of the football? LVN has done it a few times and last night it was Engabare. Just seems like an easy, unforced error that can be corrected.

I will concede that the game moves fast and there simply may not be time to make that check b4 the snap. It's just happened too often imo.

Hey Ty remind me where McDuffie came from. I do agree that he plays well and goes about it without a lot of attention.

FWIW Walker is finally playing better, my opinion, and with Cooper also on the field, it's a fine LB group.

I saw another play where McDuffie was covering 17 Waddle like 50 yards downfield. He actually did an alright job but it left me wondering...that cant have been the plan

I'm not surprised to see Walker follow a receiver deep. Walker is a great coverage LB. I didn't see the play you mentioned where McDuffie went deep, but yeah, that's really not his thing (coverage that deep). Maybe a blown assignment and McDuffie had the presence to do what he could.

As a unit, the D really does have that "swarm to the ball" mentality. That doesn't mean on every play every defender runs to the ball. In general, guys have done a much better job of positioning themselves to be "around" the ball. That's hard to do physically and mentally.
