I agree with his thoughts... That people use football to escape their real lives and be something they aren't so knocking it back down to Earth is cruel lol.

One thing though...

We were favored in both the NFC championship game and we were favored by 3 in the super bowl.

Yeah I noticed that too. More analysts definitely picked us to win against the Steelers. Even against the Falcons I remember we got a lot of respect, I think the Falcons only opened as three point favorites at home as the #1 seed.

I don't see much in the clip that would cause to turn away. It's a game, it's entertainment, life is much more important, check. I don't have a Packer man-cave (or, really, anything Packer that I had to pay for), and after a loss I throw my hands up, say "there we go again", and start looking ahead.

Also, my most memorable games (except for the '60s, when even I agree that we were 'spoiled') were those where we weren't expected to win, but did. The last six games of the 2010 season were amazing/surreal. The last games of 2009, 2011, 2014, not so much.

Can they win in Washington this Sunday, sure. Do I expect them to? No. Am I emotionally invested to the point that the start to my week on Monday is going to seriously affected, either way? No.

Perhaps I missed the underlying point in the clip. Feel free to tell me why I should have felt like turning away.

Basically the premise of the video is to say... People escapes their lives through sports. Don't ruin it for them by pointing out flaws that (even if correct) are downers. People want to have blind faith in their teams and believe they can win no matter what.

Lastly... we could be the Browns.

That about sums it up from what I remember.

I agree, I just still don't understand why those of us without blind faith, or who don't enjoy the entertainment provided by a sucky (fill in your own adjective, but you know what I mean :)) Packer game should be upset at the clip. And, I basically was a Browns fan (actually, a Packer fan post-Lombardi), and all it meant was that I reduced my expectation and was pleased with each victory, thrilled with those that were upsets or knocked the big boys out of the playoffs.

What's games were they expected to lose and won? FYI , the Packers were the favorites against the Steelers!!! They were the only 6th seed ever to be favored to win the SB. So I don't have any idea what he is yappin about!

I believe that, it was pretty obvious he that this issue had struck a nerve with him

He isnt wrong. Look around We and the Pats are the only teams that have been good for the past many years. Would you rather go back to the Dark Ages. I just built a Time Machine out of a Delorean. Ill drop you off in the Mid 70s when you go crazy from losing all the time then Ill pick you back up.

Also 400th Post on here YEY:cool::D:);):laugh::giggle::sleep::roflmao::sneaky:
