Interesting to watch how this unfolds each year. Possibly a window to potential next year Free Agents for the Packers to consider or even quite possibly, trade/cut options.

Currently, teams are considering whether to exercise the 5th year option for 2017 first round picks. Since the Packers traded out of the 1st round that year, they have nobody to make a decision on.

1. Myles Garrett, DE, Cleveland Browns: Picked up.

2. Mitchell Trubisky, QB, Chicago Bears: Declined.

3. Solomon Thomas, DE, San Francisco 49ers: Declined.

4. Leonard Fournette, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars: Declined.

5. Corey Davis, WR, Tennessee Titans: Declined.

6. Jamal Adams, S, New York Jets: Picked up.

7. Mike Williams, WR, Los Angeles Chargers: Picked up.

8. Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina Panthers: Extended.

9. John Ross, WR, Cincinnati Bengals: Declined.

10. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs: Picked up.

11. Marshon Lattimore, CB, New Orleans Saints: Picked UP

12. Deshaun Watson, QB, Houston Texans: Picked up.

13. Haason Red****, LB, Arizona Cardinals: Declined.

14. Derek Barnett, DE, Philadelphia Eagles: Picked up.

15. Malik Hooker, S, Indianapolis Colts: Declined.

16. Marlon Humphrey, CB, Baltimore Ravens: Picked up.

17. Jonathan Allen, DE, Washington Redskins: Picked up.

18. Adoree' Jackson, CB, Tennessee Titans: Picked up.

19. O.J. Howard, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Picked up.

20. Garett Bolles, OT, Denver Broncos: Declined.

21. Jarrad Davis, LB, Detroit Lions: Declined.

22. Charles Harris, LB, Miami Dolphins: Traded to Falcons, Declined.

23. Evan Engram, TE, New York Giants: Picked up.

24. Gareon Conley, CB, Oakland Raiders: Declined by Texans

25. Jabrill Peppers, S, Cleveland Browns: Picked up by New York Giants

26. Takkarist McKinley, DE, Atlanta Falcons: Declined.

27. Tre'Davious White, CB, Buffalo Bills: Picked up.

28. Taco Charlton, DE, Dallas Cowboys: Released

29. David Njoku, TE, Cleveland Browns: Picked up.

During such strange times that are uncertain and confusing, there is nothing like a post to remember the Bears trading up 1 spot to draft Mitch.

That is the 5th year option I am keeping my eye on. I have read some predictions that the Bears will exercise it. As a Packer fan, I hope they do, since that might mean we have our Jay Cutler replacement at Bear QB!

Thanks and found a few more to update as well. Only a few left for teams to declare.
  • Bears: Turd Biscuit Declined
  • Bengals: John Ross Declined
  • Cardinals: Red**** Declined
  • Colts: Hooker Declined
  • Lions: Davis: Declined
If I did my math right, only 17 of 32 5th year options picked up thus far.

EDIT: Think I got them all. So the final tally would be 17-5th year options picked up. Meaning 15 teams decided that their 2017 first round pick wasn't worth exercising the option.

Bears announce they are declining to exercise Turd Biscuits 5th year option.

Would have been a very expensive one ($24.8 M I think?), but I think this might tell Bear Turds exactly what Managements outlook is on the Biscuit.
