Hey gang,
For the 1 of you who actually enjoys my mock drafts I apologize. I've had irl stuff going on, and just did one tonight on NFL Mock Draft Database. There were trades, but usually to acquire more picks in later rounds, and future years, I never traded up.
Trades:
Pick 23 to Philly for Pick 32 Pick 64 and a 4th 5th and 6th rounder in 2026
Pick 54 to the Chargers for Pick 55 Pick 86, Pick 158 and Pick 256 and a 4th in 2026
Pick 55 to Houston for Picks 58, 89 and a 6th rounder in 2026
Pick 87 to Cleveland for Picks 94 104 a 4th and 6th in 2026
Pick 159 to Buffalo for Picks 169 173 and a 4th in 2026
Now, onto the draft picks
Pick 32: Tyler Booker IOL Alabama. The one positive I can say about Nick Saban draft picks, the O-Linemen ALWAYS seem to work out. We know we have holes at C and one if not both guard positions depending on what is done with Jenkins. Booker is an excellent hole plugger and a road grader on the field.
Pick 58: Darius Alexander DL Toledo. Admittedly I took the highest ranked player here at a need position, and honestly I've not seen the kid. Tyni...tune up the band on this one. Admittedly not a fan of a 24 year old rookie.
Pick 64: Darien Porter CB Iowa State. Best available at a need position. My one known weakness (Known to me) is that I suck at watching film and judging corners. When I saw the combine numbers, I saw a 6'3 kid with 4.3 speed. You can't teach tall, you can't teach speed, you can teach anything else.
Pick 86: Tate Rutledge IOL Georgia. I did see this guy this past season another road grader type guy, and for my money at times better than Van Pran Grainger who I was advocating for in last year's draft. Fills a need, at worst I think he's the swing guard.
Pick 89: Isaiah Bond WR Texas. Admittedly not a fan of the 5'11 but the guy got the job done last year, and week to week he was playing with a different QB. Best available at an upgradable position.
Pick 94: Demetrius Knight LB South Carolina: 25 year old rookie, not a fan of it, but 6'2 235...prototype sized linebacker. I've seen other mocks that have him projected gone 20 picks earlier. Value pick here. Maybe we get 5-7 years out of him, and not the dozen or so with Cooper, but hopefully it gets McDuffie off the field, and fingers crossed off the team.
Pick 104: Emory Jones T LSU: I've been waffling on whether we NEED a tackle. Walker is good at Tackle, not Bakhtiari, Clifton or Tauscher, but good. Tom may move inside, or if his agent has his way may not. Until I see Jordan Morgan actually play a full game I'm not sold on him. This guy helps solve some of these issues.
Pick 124: Quinn Ewers QB Texas: I hear alot and see alot of Packers fans talking about "what happens if Love goes down" or "Why can't we develop quarterbacks and trade them away" Ewers would be a good prospect for both questions. Injury concerns YES but plays well when healthy.
Pick 158: Ollie Gordon II RB Oklahoma State: I was impressed by this kid and how he took over when Chuba Hubbard got drafted. At times the only running game OSU had. Definite Aaron Jones/Josh Jacobs type back, though maybe a touch smaller.
Pick 169: Tai Felton WR Maryland: Best available at an upgradable position. Really good WR on some bad Maryland teams during his college years, with some sketchy QBs.
Pick 173: JJ Pegues DL Mississippi: If this guy comes out last year he might've been a day 2 pick. But he goes back to school and drops to Day 3. Big dude, dominant at times, but not all the time. Put him in a room with Clark and his game will pick up.
Pick 198: Sebastian Castro S Iowa: I'm unsure if Safety is a need or an upgradable position. If one of last years rookies step up, Castro is a solid back up. If last year's rookies are what they are, Castro can crack the staring lineup with X.
Pick 237: Jamon Dumas-Johnson LB Kentucky: 6'1 245, on the larger side of prototypical. Ran a 4.5 flat on his pro day. Vicious tackler, I don't know how this guy gets to round 7 as he's possibly the best linebacker in the SEC.
Pick 250: Hunter Wohler S Wisconsin: Badger fans know about this dude. Hitter, athletic, leader. Injured late in 2024, which I think is why he's an end of the draft guy and not a 4th.
Pick 256: Benjamin Yurosek TE Georgia: 6'4 245, lets get this guy in the weight room and get him to about 255-260. Musgrave's weird injuries are becoming a concern, and if he's out, who backs up Kraft? Yurosek would be a great addition to the TE room as a 3rd TE or a backup if one of the top 2 are injured.
Well that's it guys. As always willing to hear all criticism, though I will defend most of these picks with knowledge I also know I go more in depth with my picks but it's 1:45 and I have to be up way early tomorrow.
