Last week he ran almost exclusively out of the shotgun position. Plus Lacy has even said he is used to being behind the QB and that running out of shotgun is new to him. Regardless, I like Lacy having a 7 yard head of steam when he gets the ball and that seemed to work well last night too.
I'm so glad they finally went away from the stupid shotgun handoffs and actually played to Lacy's strength of downhill running and let him get a full head of steam heading into the handoff. I don't know why it took 4 games to finally figure that out. It was great to see Lacy back in his bruiser...
I was wondering why no one mentioned Driven by Donald Driver and then I realized the thread was from 2010. Anyway, you should check out that book. It's crazy how such an upstanding guy (I'm assuming from what I've heard about him) had such a hard and troubled childhood.
I completely agree as well. I think those concussions are getting to him because before he would bring his pads down and lower the boom but now he likes to stutter step before getting to the hole. I think I saw one play yesterday where he actually lowered his shoulders while running through the...
All the more reason they should stop trying to run around the corner with Lacy. Starks may actually have a chance to turn the corner.
I don't get what the point of giving Kuhn that contract if they weren't going to use him. I think last week he was in on 3 plays and had maybe 1 on Sunday (aside...
I don't get why they don't try a traditional backfield and have a fullback leading the charge through the hole? I mean it doesn't help when Lacy is getting hit before he even gets to the line a scrimmage when it's an off tackle run. If the line can't handle the rush, then put a 2nd back in there...
Or why not throw a fullback in there sometimes and have a lead blocker instead of running that stupid pitch sweep to the outside, which never works. At least that'll add someone else to the hole to try and open one instead of having Lacy tiptoe his way in there. There are some things about this...
Good luck with that. Just pluck one off the ILB and NT tree? I can almost guarantee anything on the free agent market will be worse than who we already have.
I'm watching the Jets game and Geno Smith doesn't like to go down when he's running. And the Raiders had some good hits on him when he was running the option. I think the Packers got to put a few good licks on him and he'll think twice about running it.
He looks good but in my mind, there must have been some reason why the Redskins cut him. I mean Reggie Bush was dominant in college but it took him quite a few years before was able to do anything in the NFL. Guess we'll have to see what/if the Packers have any plans for him.
Sure they have a chance. The season is long and who knows what can change on both teams. I didn't think we'd get dominated that bad either but I think if we see Seattle again, I think it'll be a different game.
Remember last year when McCarthy schemed the entire off season for the 49ers and we got blown up by them again? Its not schemes that will fix the defense but fundamentals such as tackling. If they get the fundamentals down, the scheme will follow with it.
