The Packers prize athleticism, versatility, intelligence and character. I see a lot of that in this draft.
What will happen with Morgan right away is intriguing. Does he spend his first year as a backup swing tackle and guard? Does he start at left tackle? Does he start at left tackle, Walker...
I like to read scouting reports and put together my list at position and overall in the two weeks before the draft. I just didn't have time this year, so I'm in the dark on a lot of these pics and way behind. One thing that struck me was Gute seem to be pretty decisive on his pics
Then again, I'm just another fan who read some sites and make his pics a week or so before the draft. In other words one 1 million of what Gute knows. In the light of day tomorrow, I'm going to be happy with this draft and with Gute.
Maybe I'm not making my point and you're getting me wrong and that's fine. I'm fine with the pics they've made and I'm fine with Gute just think with how they went into this draft they could have done more.
My concern is who's the other safety? So you got a big time free agent who maybe gets minimalized because he has to keep covering for the rookies mistakes. My Hope is that after the draft they sign Simmons
On the other side of things, again professing my faith in Gute, he obviously wasn't as high on some of the guys I was looking at as I was. In retrospect the first round pick is probably going to be a very good one. Fits everything the Packers like in an offensive lineman. The mix and match...
But are they as good as what they could have had?. Again in the long run I don't have any doubt in Gute. My question is it for just doing enough to get double-digit wins, in the playoffs and in the conversation every year again. Get inpact players and get over the hump.
My issue is where they were sitting coming in they could have had at least two and maybe three of the top guys with that they needed. Right now they've got maybe one.
They got one of the two guys I wanted at linebacker. Now what about the secondary with Jean and Melton gone? I'm thinking depending how things go from here on out, go after Simmons.
The board was falling in our favor. We had a shot at least five for the top players left at linebacker and secondary. But we'd rather own day three. Again, I'm not trying to be knee jerk here and I have total confidence in Gute. I don't mind if he blows a pic or a move now and then because I...
I'm trying not to be knee jerk here, but this business of the owning the 6th and 7th rounds ain't going to get it. You're passing on top players for guys are going to be special teams next year? I'm trying to withhold judgment here but this team plays it too safe. Come playoff time you're going...
